Employment Support Services
GCDHH works with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) to provide no-cost employment support services to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and late-deafened Georgians using a person-centered approach. We can give you the tools to prepare for employment and find the right job for you.
Helps develop or re-establish personal and social behaviors to enhance a person's employability.
No matter what technical skills a job requires, every job requires soft skills and good social/interpersonal skills.
Our Way Work Training Program is a customized approach to giving clients the resources and training needed to succeed in employment. Our Way trainees come into our mock work floor at a set schedule every week to perform tasks in a work environment and collaborate with other trainees, clients, and professionals on a weekly basis. Additionally, throughout the week, trainees will attend trainings and presentations to teach them about employment skills and accommodations in the work place.
If you or someone you know is Deaf/Hard of Hearing/DeafBlind and could benefit from customized employment support services, please contact our Employment Specialist, Ericka Lipscomb-Capel, SW
"Mrs. Capel is so smart. She is patient and considerate to the Deaf culture and helped me so much during my self-advocacy trainings with her."
