Seeking Deaf Mentors for Middle & High School Students!
The Habersham County School System (Northeast Georgia) is seeking Deaf adults to mentor middle and high school Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Mentors will share their experiences, Deaf culture, and insights on life as a Deaf adult to help students build confidence and pride in their identity.
Sessions take place about once every month or two and last roughly 30 minutes. Mentoring occurs during DHH service times, typically Tuesdays or Thursdays at the high school and Wednesdays or Fridays at the middle school. A recent background check is required for on-campus visits. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact and support the next generation of Deaf leaders!
