Camp Juliena Founded

1992

Eleanor Foshee and Pat Ford established Camp Juliena in 1992 as a way to promote meaningful social interaction among Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children. While supportive of mainstream education for students with hearing loss, both women felt strongly about giving these students the opportunity to socialize exclusively with their Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing peers.
